What's New for 2022?
With the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 offering an all-new design, you can expect exciting changes in appearance and trim level options. The new Sierra 1500 shows off a new, bold grille and striking headlights to keep it looking fresh and modern. There are two new trim levels to choose from, including the Denali Ultimate and AT4X, offering both upscale luxury and off-roading prowess.
Impressive Capability and Performance
The new 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 will come with four engine options to help you discover the right amount of power and utility for your driving needs. Two automatic transmission options provide seamless gear shifting and optimized gear ratios. Depending on your engine choice and model choice, you will either have access to an eight-speed or a ten-speed automatic transmission.
The four engine options available for the new Sierra 1500 include:
- Enhanced 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output: This engine comes standard for lower trim levels, including the Elevation, SLE and Pro. You can expect 310 horsepower, 430 pound-feet of torque, and 9,400 pounds of towing.
- 5.3-liter V8: You can enjoy V8 power standard when you choose the Denali and SLT trim levels, but this engine is also available for the Elevation, SLE, and Pro trim levels. This engine offers 355 horsepower, 383 pound-feet of torque, and 11,200 pounds of maximum towing.
- 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel: You can enjoy the low-end torque delivery of driving diesel with this impressive engine. The 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel comes standard for the AT4 and is available for the Denali Ultimate, Denali, SLT, Elevation, and SLE. You can expect impressive diesel power and capability with best-in-class diesel horsepower of 277, 460 pound-feet of torque, active thermal management, and a best-in-class 4WD diesel towing capacity of up to 13,000 pounds.
- 6.2-liter V8: If you're interested in serious engine power, the 6.2-liter V8 engine could be right for you. The Denali Ultimate and AT4X offer this engine standard, while it's available for the Denali, AT4, and SLT. This engine delivers 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque, and up to 13,000 pounds of towing capability.
